Sample the future of our food! The Future Food House in the Museumpark is the beating heart of the World Food Festival and offers an exciting perspective on the future of food. Find out more about the latest trends, technologies and developments in the world of food. Cooking demonstrations, workshops, interactive exhibitions, installations and jam sessions between master chefs will give you plenty of food for thought.

Festivals, events and markets

Walk around a Moroccan inspired culinary square in Rotterdam at Djemaa el Fna (20-21 September), discover the best of culinary and cultural Rotterdam at RotterdamseKost Festival (3-5 October), find out more about farming during the Rotterdamse Oogst (22 September) or enjoy a rooftop dinner at the Dakakker Oogstfeest (20 September). Die-hard foodies and other food fans can take a tour of food production companies in places you’d never normally visit. Fifteen different expeditions give you a behind the scenes glimpse of the most extraordinary firms in Rotterdam’s food sector. Debates, conferences and lectures

There will be debates, conferences and seminars featuring international speakers from the world of science, business and food during the World Food Festival. A wide range of topics will be discussed during Discovery Festival Rotterdam (27 September), De Stad Schaft (4 October) and Wat eet Rotterdam? (18 October). From innovations in the production of food to developing taste and from urban agriculture to the future of food.
